Using Texture to Make Memorable Print Marketing

Using Texture to Make Memorable Print Marketing

Posted by on Dec 19, 2016 in General Blog Posts, Trends | 0 comments

It’s imperative to make your marketing materials stand out. Your marketing materials should strive to be different so that you can get an edge over the competition. Many printed materials such as brochures, business cards and postcards don’t have anything unique that separate them from the competition. Incorporating textures into your designs is a great way give your marketing materials a visual and tangible edge that won’t be forgotten. Incorporating textures into your materials can dramatically increase engagement. Customers are drawn to things that they can interact with, and having a textured finish encourages people to touch and take the print material. Below is the NEPS design team’s favourite ways to incorporate a texture into your design. Foil Stamping Foil stamping is a process in which a metallic foil is transferred onto print material using a heated die. This is sometimes referred to as “dry painting” as there is no ink used. There are over 5 different types of foil that can be added to your materials. Not only do foils create a smooth texture, but the contrast between the paper and the foil stamped area will certainly wow anyone. Embossing Embossing refers to a process in which an impression is made into the paper. The imprint on the paper creates a texture based on the design that was chosen. This can be used with the foil to create an embossed foil stamp, or creatively in other ways, such as an embossed texture. Having the right print materials can ultimately benefit your business, and your bottom line. Visit NEPS online and use our self-checkout system, or call us at 1-844-994-0442. How to Create a Perfectly Designed Printed Menu

How to Create a Perfectly Designed Printed Menu

Posted by on Nov 18, 2016 in General Blog Posts | 0 comments

There are a lot of factors that determine what type of printed menu would be perfect for your establishment or for an upcoming event. Menus are available in all sizes, finishes, shapes, and you’ll want yours to stand out and be a perfect reflection of what your business or event represents. Here are some of the most important things to consider when you are creating a perfectly designed printed menu. Will It Be Folded or Flat? Do you want to have a menu that shows all of the choices on a flat menu or would you prefer it to be folded? If you’re running an establishment that offers a variety of food or drink choices you’ll probably need to work with the folded options. If you’re running a smaller place that can fit all of the options on one page or are planning an event with only a couple of food choices, the flat menu may work well for you. Choose the Size We have a variety of different sizes available in both landscape and portrait format. One thing you’ll want to keep in mind is the size of the table in the establishment. If you order a menu that is too big it will be awkward to manage when a lot of people are sitting around the table. On the other hand, you won’t want your menu to be too small making it hard for people to read the writing on it. Takeout menus should be small enough that they can be easily folded into a pocket. Laminated Menus You’ll have a choice between high-gloss or matt lamination and there are pros and cons to both types. Matt lamination provides a softer look while glossy menus are shiny and really brighten up the colours on it. Glossy menus may not be recommended for highly lit areas where the light could reflect off them making them difficult to read. Design Services Make sure that your printed menu gets all of the attention it deserves by using a custom design. Here at New Era Print Solutions we have a team of graphic designers that know how to create the perfect...

Your Guide to Simple Corporate Event Planning

Your Guide to Simple Corporate Event Planning

Brand your event! Consider your theme, tagline and logo when purchasing marketing collateral for your event. For the logo and branding, you can build off your company’s existing template, but add a twist in color or tone. Or, come up with something new and unique! The logo should be something you can print and recognize on an object as small as a magnet and as big as a billboard. Event Tickets: Excellent quality card-stock, perforated tear aways, bold, prismatic colour and bold opaque typography – get your customers excited for your event, even before they step through those doors. Beauty is in the details – let your event tickets do all of the talking for you. Brochures: Brochures are an essential marketing tool, as they are affordable to manufacture, portable, provide important information, and give clients a look at your branding style. Choose a one-flyer pull out, or go for the standard 3 page booklet. Brochures can be used to promote a sale, event, trade show, or even just to solidify a topic you are addressing. Neps Pro-tip: Choose “scoring” options under finishing when printing solid or dark colours to avoid cracking on fold lines. Business Cards: The final parting gift to your attendees – your pristine business card. Don’t let your attendees walk away without a call-to-action. Let them remember who you are, how to contact you, and more importantly, give them a final taste of your branding to take home with you. That’s smart thinking. Finally, once your event has gone off without a hitch (Or realistically, not a ton of hitches), Look for feedback from those who attended and plan for future events. If you’re looking for print media or design services for your event, look no further than your print specialists – neps.ca! Print Design Trends for 2016

Print Design Trends for 2016

Posted by on Jan 29, 2016 in General Blog Posts, Trends | 1 comment

2016 is the year of beauty – we’re talking about flat design, pastels, and geometric patterns. Shall we talk about teal? Yes, let’s talk about teal. Here are our proposed Print Design Trends for 2016. Pastels Pastels have been completely taking over everything – clothing, graphic design, print design, hair, lipstick, photography, really anything you can think of. If your business card is plain white with Times New Roman font, it’s time to switch things up. Try pale lavender with a gritty texture, like burlap or canvas. Overlay with clean, white calligraphy. Or, try a beautiful teal with an ivory accent. Teal means business, and class. So-called “feminine” colours are taking the professional world by storm, in a very bold way. Flat Design Flat design has been the leading trend for website design for the past year or so. Minimalism, white space, and the simplicity of it all completely render the old digital gradient style irrelevant. Forget about drop shadow, bevel and emboss – hit the road. We’re talking about modern, fresh design to bring your business into 2016. Want to chat about design ideas? Our print specialists would be happy to help you out. Geometric Patterns There’s no surprise that geometric patterns are completely taking over the design world. What our prediction is, geometric patterns paired with organic shapes and images will quickly become a staple for print design in 2016. Organic shapes can bring a softer elegance and vibrancy to a mathematical design. Paring geometric patterns with die cutting is extremely effective in creating an edgy, bold look for your branding. Try monochromatic geometric shapes for a functional and stunning background for business cards. Top that with some hand-drawn lines, and calligraphy-like font, and you’ve skyrocked into 2016. Welcome to the future, where our print professionals at NEPS would be happy to chat with...
